Studio
Currently located in the Detroit area, this is my humble home studio. I’m currently searching for a
new space. Once moved, I'll also get a proper new studio desk.
The centerpiece of my studio is the API console. Do not let the compact modern design fool you. It sounds and acts
like a larger API console like the 1608 in a compact design.
I can record 32 channels at once and mix at least 100 channels ITB and 26 channels of
summing.
My goal is to help artists that I love create great music. Many things can now be done by the artist
themselves. So I offer everything else, including: tracking, hybrid mixing, mastering, decades of
experience and another point of view.
Often it’s better for an artist to only think about the artistic part, the music. I designed
my studio to work a modern workflow. Mixing in the box, through the console, or both. Logic Pro,
Reaper, Pro Tools Unlimited, Luna, Superior Drummer. Waves, SSL, Trident, UA API, Native Instruments.

History
My music production focus is with space, noise, punk and experimental artists. I'm also a
sucker for a
good pop song.
I've worked with Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Aretha Franklin, Mark Farner,
The Four Tops,
The Dramatics, Temptations, Mitch Albom, Tyler Perry for studio productions. I also worked on live
studio recordings
with Elliot Smith, Soul Coughing, Ben Folds Five, The Suicide
Machines, Eagle Eye Cherry.
My music career started with a pentium that had a CD writer, Sek'd 4 track audio
card and a 6 channel pre amp that I would use to record my and other local bands. Four years later I
upgraded
to a Digi001 with the presonus 8 channel upgrade and Protools 5. In 2001 I was hired at Harmonie Park Studios in Detroit where I mostly worked
on
a Trident Vector 432.
In that time, I upgraded the B room with my modded Trident
65.
Before that it was a Yamaha 02R96, which
sounded
better than it should. I used that room to record solo acoustic artists. After taking 10 years off
of music to spend more time with my family and complete some nerdy ambitions, I opened up my studio
again.
I was mixing in the box before anyone. Now my focus is hybrid mixing. Old and new sounds balancing
each
other out.
